Mary Ellen was John & Sarah's only child.

Mary Ellen was only a couple years old when her mother died. Martha (Sarah's younger sister) married John and helped raise Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen was staying with her son Eddie in Blue Springs, Kansas City when she died. She is buried in the Conway Baptist Cemetery on S. Myrtle Street in Conway, Missouri by her dad.
